Responsibilities
Tasks
• Prepare and maintain production, work progress, and performance reports.
• Supervise autobody technicians, painters, and apprentices to ensure high-quality repairs and timely completion of jobs.
• Coordinate repair schedules and allocate tasks based on job complexity and technician skillset.
• Organize and facilitate ongoing training sessions on industry best practices, new repair techniques, and safety standards.
• Manage day-to-day operations of the body shop, including workflow efficiency and customer service standards.
• Estimate labor, parts, and material requirements for repair jobs in alignment with industry guidelines.
• Enforce compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.
• Participate in recruitment decisions and evaluate staff performance for promotions or disciplinary actions.
• Oversee the procurement and inventory management of tools, parts, and paint supplies.
• Arrange for the training of workers.
• Implement process improvements and collaborate with other departments (mechanical, parts, and customer service) to ensure seamless service delivery.
